Hulu is trying to be a streaming service with the old network model of TV shows coming out on a specific day every week. This has not worked. Netflix changed the way TV watchers binge shows and they no longer want to wait every Wednesday to see the next episode of Castle Rock. It also forces subscribers to remain subscribed for several months just to finish a TV show. Hulu’s only major success was The Handmaid’s Tale. Without another major hit, Netflix, HBO and DIsney+ will end up drowning Hulu. There will likely remain subscribers that want to see network TV shows on a weekly basis, but Hulu will never had the reach of Netflix or HBO.
